Keeping Lessons Focused

Ai’s Piano Lessons
My Teaching Philosophy
I want to help my students build a connection with music in a way that feels natural and personal to them. Some students are deeply expressive and enjoy conveying emotion through their playing. Others are more motivated by mastering skills or overcoming challenges. I do my best to meet each student where they are, balancing technique, creativity, and patience to support their unique path.
I tailor lessons to each student’s pace, personality, and musical taste, and I emphasize emotional connection, not just technical perfection. At the same time, I believe in the importance of building a strong, well-rounded foundation — developing solid technique, rhythm, musical literacy, and healthy practice habits from the beginning. A strong foundation gives students the tools and freedom to express themselves fully and grow with confidence.
Parental support is also an essential part of progress, and I actively collaborate with families to encourage consistency and positivity at home.
What excites me most is when a student — regardless of their starting ability — shows willpower and determination. That kind of inner drive often leads to the most extraordinary growth, and I value it deeply. Teaching is a learning process for me as well. I’m constantly exploring new ways to help students connect more deeply with music, and I approach every lesson with openness, flexibility, and care.
Above all, my goal is to make piano lessons meaningful, empowering, and enjoyable, no matter what each student’s journey looks like.
